Jeff Zulman - CEO

Jeff Zulman

Jeff has extensive executive level exposure to listed and private companies operating in Australia and in the USA, the UK and South Africa. With a background in corporate advisory and venture capital, his experience extends to assisting small cap listed and large private companies with their corporate finance requirements including M&A, capital raisings and divestitures.

Between 2005 and 2008 Jeff was CEO of Beacon IT Group a privately owned software development, distribution and salescompany that specialises in designing software solutions for major corporate and government clients including the Department of Finance -Federal Government of Australia, IBM, ING and Sony.

Jeff’s professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts/Law from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, a Diploma of Jurisprudence from Oxford University and taxation law qualifications from the University of Sydney.


Alan Gibbons - CIO

Alan is a specialist in growing businesses, with strengths in strategy, IT and finance. He couples his strong academic qualifications (an MBA and an Honours degree both obtained with distinction), to 20 years of business experience in a wide range of sectors.

Alan enjoyed 11 years with the global mining giant, Gold Fields, including work in Johannesburg and London. His experience included IT, financial planning and project finance. After completing a highly successful outsourcing deal with IBM, thelargest in the country at the time, Alan joined a small software company and helped it grow from 40 to 500 people, holding general management and C-level positions over a period of 5 years.

In 2005 Alan co-founded a management consultancy and provided strategic advice to a range of blue chip and SME companies, with one investment growing from 8 to 130 people before its public listing in 2007.


Steve Lambert – COO

Steve Lambert

Formerly the CEO of National Brokers Group (NBG), Steve is the Chief Operating Officer at Vow Financial. Steve has over 25 years experience in banking and financial services, having held a variety of roles within St George Bank over a 15 year career. Since 2000, Steve has worked with NBG in a range of roles covering sales and operational functions. He was appointed CEO in February 2008.

His professional qualifications include a Master of Business – General Management, Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance / Mortgage Broking). Steve is an elected Board member of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia NSW/ACT council and the National Brokers Committee.


Dr Peter Neustadt – Chairman

Chairman Dr. Neustadt is a management consultant and entrepreneur with more than thirty years experience building and improving public companies within the hospitality, media, property and finance sectors. He has previously worked for the global management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company and was an executive board member of Kerry Packer's Consolidated Press Holdings (CPH).

Dr. Neustadt is the chairman of the Vow Financial board.


Michael Nicholson – Director

Formerly the CEO of The Mortgage Professionals (TMP), Mike will move into a non executive director role with Vow Financial. Mike has over 20 years experience in the lending and financial industries. Immediately prior to establishing TMP with his partners, Mike spent 5 years with Aussie Home Loans in broking and lending and 4 years with MLC in life sales and advisory roles.

As CEO and director of TMP he was primarily responsible for the strategic planning and direction of the company, as well as company structure and the smooth running of the business. He was functionally responsible for sales, distribution, training and development. His professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in management and economics.


Geoff Smith – Director

Geoff has more that 20 years experience in the financial services arena, which includes stints with Wells Fargo Bank (California) and Advance Bank in Canberra. In 1995 he co-founded one of Australia's early mortgage broking firms (The Mortgage Detective) and in 2001 established The Brokerage, a national mortgage aggregation company.

Geoff joined the board of Vow in 2010 as a founding director and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Mark Brennan – Director

Mark is currently the Division Director at MAS Mortgages, Head of Funding, Pricing and Analytics and represents Macquarie’s interests on the Vow Financial Board.

Mark has 15 years experience at Macquarie Bank Limited, in two stints in Mortgages Division and has been involved since the business was started in 1992. Roles included Head of Lending, Head of credit, Head of Marketing, Head of wholesale and Head of Business Investments. Mark has  a strong customer focus, financial literacy, strong credit skills, good people person and clear understanding what makes a business work and prosper through strategic thinking.

Member of Mortgages Leadership Team, Member of MAS Mortgages pricing committee, Director of Macquarie Securitisation Limited, Director Macquarie Mortgages Pty Limited.


Ranjit Thambyrajah - Director

Ranjit is the founder and Managing Director of Acuity Funding and its subsidiaries. He was also a Company Director for the National Brokers Group.

Acuity Funding was formed in 1996 when a number of major financial institutions invited Ranjit to establish Acuity as a vehicle to introducing qualified business to them on a fee for service basis.

His key skills include the ability to structure deals that suit lenders’ criteria whilst achieving the purpose set out by the borrower. His personal business experience includes property development – construction and subdivision, specialised securities, aged care, kindergartens & pre-schools, agriculture and real estate.


Simon Rutherford – Director

Currently a Director with Lawler Partners, Simon has been in chartered accountancy since 1984 and a Director of Lawler Partners since 1994. His specialist experience and knowledge is predominantly in the areas of corporate governance, business development strategy, structure, succession planning, taxation and key operational issues. Simon also has considerable expertise in property development matters including negotiation, structuring, planning, feasibility modelling, funding and taxation. His external board positions include National Brokers Group, Pacific Smiles Group, Canyon Property Trust and Australian Mortgage Line.

His professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Registered Tax Agent.
